News from our Food Pantry
Summer is here! As the state opens back up, more and more people are going to be having picnics and BBQ’s. When I go to either one, I usually take a macaroni salad. What do you like to bring? Pick up the ingredients to one of your salads or yummy desserts and donate to those families we serve to enjoy!

FORE! MACC sponsored a foursome for the annual Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament to honor staff & volunteers for their faithful work in our Community Kitchen during COVID. These MACC volunteers along with 40 others worked diligently behind the scenes with Chef Ferdinand to prepare more than 200 meals a day and more than earned a day of fun #onthelinks.

What does a hand shake mean to you? I recently met with a household who was aware of the services we offered, yet never reached out in hopes of making it out of their emergency situation without agency assistance. One discussion together, and we came to a solution they can achieve on their own. It was a handshake to a better tomorrow.

Why do you volunteer?
Some folks I’ve met at MACC have told me that they either volunteer because it makes them feel good to help a community in need, some, simply say it’s because they have the spare time to do so, while others enjoy giving back. Then there’s CHANCE! Chance ONLY volunteers because he gets to enjoy our hot meals on the days he volunteers.

Each week Outreach & Manchester PD’s Par unit, take to the streets. The main purpose is to interact with the homeless/at risk population in our community. Addressing their concerns and informing them of, the many services we offer. Such as the community lunch program and our shower and laundry service. We are better together than we are apart. Kindness Wins!

Bistro On Main
This past Saturday’s Butterfly Stroll event was a huge success! Lots of businesses, including Bistro on Main, participated with varying promotions. We offered butterfly-themed beverages, such as the Iron Butterfly cocktail, and the Blue Monarch raspberry lemonade. Downtown Manchester also featured live music, crafts, local artwork, and even contests! Stay tuned all summer for more upcoming events for our neighborhood.
