Simone Joyaux died May 2nd a day before my 22nd year anniversary with MACC. Hartford Foundation for Public Giving introduced MACC to Simone, through a multi-services grant that transformed our organization. I learned to love the nonprofit world through Simone’s passion, skill and 3-year mentorship. “If you love what you do, ask others to help you get it done”.

Director of Services

This past Monday our 2nd Annual Hip Hop Haircuts in the Community event wrapped up. A chilly start but the appointments kept coming. 7 stylist and barbers from tHairapy Beauty Bar and West Main Barber did an awesome job getting everyone feeling and looking fresh. Twenty-four appointments arrived and walked away looking sharp. Contribute towards our next event this fall?

Big shout out to Doront from Project Genesis, he would come into volunteer with his mentor Summer. Together they’ve become quite the duo. No matter the need or task they were always eager to help. Doront has gotten a part time job working at Stop & Shop as a produce clerk! Congrats kiddo, WE are all very proud of you!

Patti Thurlow

Operations Manager

Did you know that MACC Charities relies on volunteers to help staff and run the various departments we have here at MACC? We are actively looking for volunteers to join our team! We have the Community Kitchen, Emergency Food Pantry, as well as our Community Threads Thrift Shoppe that operate at various hours. Every extra hand helps us help our community!

Outreach Case Worker

It’s always encouraging to hear from a previous guest with good news they’re excited to share. Making a lifestyle change comes from within a person when they’ve lost everything. Being pointed in the right direction for services and offering words of encouragement influences a better outcome when a guest chooses to make a positive lifesaving decision. What’s holding you back?

Bistro On Main

Mother’s Day was a huge success for Bistro on Main, and we were excited to celebrate it with you! Our Cast-Iron Frittata was our number one seller! Our special brunch menu also featured items such as Stuffed Crepes, Buttermilk Pancakes, a Bistro Benedict, and Texas-Style French Toast. Stay tuned for our Father’s Day brunch menu to be released in June!
