John Padbury, MACC Board member, believed children in our community deserved to have milk, so he created a Milk Fund to supply it through MACC’s food pantry. John asked his family, friends and fellow Rotarians to help him, and they did. Although John is no longer with us, his milk fund is, because others carry on his good work.

Building younger generational volunteers. It is so heart-warming to see students from various local schools here in Manchester, volunteering time at MACC Charities. They bring new ideas and vibrant energy to giving back and serving their community. We recently had students from Manchester High school bake delicious bread and rolls which they donated to us for our families in need.

Our Tuesday crew teamed-up this past week in creating our version of Beef Enchiladas! Flour tortillas were stuffed with seasoned ground beef, green enchilada sauce, pepper jack cheese and some refried beans topped with red enchilada sauce and melted cheddar cheese accompanied by yellow rice and stewed beans. It was quite the process for us but well worth the work!

Operations Manager
April is National Volunteer Month, a month that is dedicated to recognizing the importance of volunteering and honoring the significant contributions volunteers make by donating their time to MACC. During this month of appreciation, MACC will be surprising our volunteers in many various ways to say THANK YOU and to show our unwavering appreciation to them! We love our volunteers!

Community Outreach and Emergency Services Manager
As the MACC Cold Weather Shelter Pilot Program comes to a conclusion this week, please remember that the plight of our community’s homeless doesn’t stop, they just change priorities. We now transition from cold weather to warm weather to hot weather, and each season has its own challenges and needs. Homelessness isn’t seasonal, it’s yearlong. Help make a difference today.
