Beth Stafford

Executive Director/CEO

A fall on black ice in early January broke my femur. It saved my life revealing a heart condition I did not know I had. I credit my recovery to the incredible medical teams at ECHN & St. Francis along with your thoughts and prayers. Three months later, my heart is repaired and I am learning to walk again.

Spring is finally here, which means baseball season is right around the corner. Our Mighty MACC team of volunteers is here and always eager to say “put me in coach.” We simply could not fulfil our ongoing mission if it wasn’t for our homerun hitters! Thanks again to every one of our dedicated players. Which team are you rooting for?

Shannon Baldassario

Director of Services

This year marks the 30th Anniversary of Rebuilding Together. I am looking forward to putting together a team to tackle the task(s) we’ve been assigned. For those who are new to Rebuilding, groups of volunteers will help with exterior projects like small repairs, painting, and yardwork. COVID updated protocols will be shared as we get closer to the Big Day!

Community Kitchen Head Chef

I’ve had the luxury of working with so many unique and unforgettable volunteers in my 3 years here at MACC. It’s always a pleasant surprise bumping into individuals who have volunteered in the past. It’s like seeing the spring foliage peeking through these cold months. It is great when I can see old volunteers make their way back to us!

Patti Thurlow

Operations Manager

Every week, as I do the volunteer scheduling, I am truly amazed at the number of people that give us one of the most important resources that we all have, TIME! In our everyday lives, it seems we all are so busy and yet over 120 individuals come to MACC Charites EVERY WEEK and give their time to help others!

I’ve realized that it takes time to understand the homeless community. Are they rebounding from a traumatic event, a violent episode or mental illness, or simply experiencing a lack of affordable housing? With each reason comes a different solution, but none are easy to navigate alone. This is where MACC comes in, helping those in need when they feel alone.

Chef Rasheen Mathis

Bistro on Main Executive Chef

This week at the Bistro, we ran a hearty Beef Bolognese with Rotini Pasta Special. It’s started with a carrot mirepoix, which is lightly sautéed with seasoned ground beef. It’s then deglazed with a Madeira wine, a splash of heavy cream, and mounted with butter and parmesan cheese to finish. Come on down to try our specials of the week.
