The MACC Minute March 17, 2022.  We hope it will inspire you to get involved.

Beth Stafford

Executive Director/CEO

This change of seasons reminds us that 2022 is moving quickly! For us, entering into spring will make it challenging to gain a clear sense of what comes next. While this spring will (hopefully) look much different than last, it will look different than years before. Staff adapt to seasonal changes, ready to assist where a hand up is needed.

Phil Leggett

Pantry Manager

From truck driver to Pantry manager. Who would have thought? I started at MACC Charities on light duty and ended up a full time employee. From navigating routes, to coordinating all kinds of daily activities. It’s been a huge learning experience and a totally gratifying one. Still learning and loving the experience. Grateful for the next chapter in my life.

I truly believe in paying it forward and choosing kindness without anything expected in return. I try and utilize life’s humble experiences and wisdom within my craft to ensure quality food and service. A wise man once said, “The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away” – William Shakespeare. #DoGood

Spring forward, to me that means we not only move our clocks ahead an hour, it means that warmer weather is on its way! Community Threads Thrift Shoppe is letting go of winter and bringing in the spring and summer clothes and décor. Stop by today and grab some good deals or donate and put a smile on someone’s face.

Community Outreach and Emergency Services Manager

I always hear individuals or groups that drop off items for our homeless clients stating they wished they could do more, and we always tell them we appreciate every bit of help. It reminds me of this humorous quote. “If you think you’re too small to make a difference, you haven’t spent the night with a mosquito.” Spring is near.

Chef Rasheen Mathis

Bistro on Main Executive Chef

With warmer weather comes new ideas. I am looking forward to introducing a few of my new ideas to the menu as spring steadily approaches. The first item on my list is some fresh new salads. I also have an idea for a new pork chop dish, stay tuned for the details. Please, stop on by and say hi sometime.
