The MACC Minute August 4, 2022.  We hope it will inspire you to get involved.

Beth Stafford

Executive Director/CEO

I have wanted to be a social worker since the 7th grade and never wanted to do anything else. Maybe a nurse, but I could not take the physical bleeding. So, my heart became set on stopping the emotional bleeding. Many social services jobs led me to MACC, and now I see it all prepared me for my heart’s desire.

Are you on your way to preventing diabetes? The staff at ECHN’s Diabetes Wellness Center have partnered with us at MACC to spread the word! Their Outpatient Educators toured our Community Kitchen and Emergency Food Pantry to learn our operations; so together, we can assist in preparing our folks with support in the long run. Meet Mario!

Mario is a hardworking and cheerful volunteer. He recently joined us from the Supportive Living Program at Horizons. The moment he enters the kitchen, Mario is ready to learn and offer assistance in any way we may need. His positive energy and humor makes cooking that much more fun. Thank you Mario for making our day that much brighter!

The thought of volunteering invokes many ideas and feelings in people. For some, they want to give back to your community and lend a helping hand. Others, have a team building day for their company. If you want to volunteer, contact me! Follow the volunteer button below for my information so we can find a way to make it happen!

Community Outreach and Emergency Services Manager

The excessive heat and humidity continues this week, so please look out for those who may be living outside. MACC’s Outreach & Emergency Services will be out searching and offering assistance again, and we ask that you also help and show compassion to those that you may encounter that need some relief. Don’t forget, “Kindness, like a boomerang, always returns.”
