The prophetic lyrics from the movie Frozen II describe what many of us feel, “I have seen dark before, but not like this”, and the solution follows,  “just do the next right thing, take a step and step again”, it is that good advice I see our community following every day, as they step and step again to help others.

Shannon Baldassario

Director of Services

As this pandemic continues, our mighty MACC team continues to adapt and relate with the daily changes we are presented. It’s admirable how they always find a way to get it done and done well. A dedication to our organization’s goals and/or mission. The spotlight is on the MACC Team that comes in each day to provide for our community.

Grab your copy of; Taste of MACC: Chef’s Best Recipes cookbook. It’s available on amazon and kindle. Page 60 is one of my favorite go-to summer salads. The Kale Quinoa Salad: Fresh spinach, quinoa, grapes & freshly squeezed lemon juice are just a few of the ingredients. Perhaps an idea for this weekend’s festivities? Maybe add grilled chicken or salmon!

Patti Gregory

This week’s Volunteer highlight is for 2 of MACC’s young adult volunteers, Jack Dufresne and Noor Majid. Both started here within the last 2 years and they both have grown to become priceless Volunteers to MACC Charities. Jack and Noor come on Saturdays to assist the Chefs to make sure everything runs smoothly. Thank you both and HAPPY GRADUATION NOOR!

Proper hygiene for those experiencing homelessness can be challenging and hygiene products not easy to obtain. Twice a week we offer shower services with hygiene products to those facing difficult times. We are always in need of body wash, shampoo, razors, toothpaste and deodorant. Hot showers stimulate blood flow to rest the body and soothes us both physically and mentally.

Executive Chef Bistro On Main

The temporary closing of Bistro on Main has been tough fiscally, as well as emotionally, so you can imagine what this encouraging message left in chalk outside the front door of the Bistro meant to me. I am beyond happy to share that we will be opening very soon, so stay tuned, I foresee Shrimp Po Boys in the near future.”
