May 2022 hold unexpected blessings for you just like what our guests received at the Community Kitchen on New Year’s Day from the Milan Cultural Association (an association of people from India living in CT). This group helped us serve lunch, gave us a generous financial gift to help fund the work, and wished each guest a happy new year.

MACC’s 2021 Joy of Community Sharing was a success! Thanks to our generous community, 122 households enjoyed abundant Holiday Baskets through our Emergency Food Pantry and 184 families were adopted for Christmas. Celebrating the holidays may be a small way to bless people, but also serves to distract them from the hardships they deal with day in and day out.

MACC’s Community Kitchen

A couple weekends ago, while working Christmas Eve and Christmas day, we had a few generous donations by different people. The family that really stood out among the others was the Quinlan Family. Jameson, Hudson, Helen, Parsons along with Dad brought in numerous cases of nonperishable food items. Not only a bountiful donation but smiles that sung of holiday cheer!

December 2021 brought a new community resource, the MACC Cold Weather Shelter Pilot Program. This program, being new to the town and MACC, utilizes resources from all MACC areas to provide temporary shelter, basic needs, Outreach services, preparation and delivery of meals, and 24/7 contact information for client needs/inquiries. Utilizing our experience and learning as we go, the MACC way.

Bistro On Main

The first of many Bistro Bites to come, was a huge success!  Bistro on Main had a local artist, Tiana Correa, and great food and drink specials.  This event will be held every Thursday from 4:30pm–6:30pm and is open to the public.  We will have an array of small plates and specialty drinks ranging from $6 – $8 each.
