Welcome to the our weekly newsletter

The MACC Minute February 17, 2022.  We hope it will inspire you to get involved.

Beth Stafford

Executive Director/CEO

This past weekend, our SouperBowl of Caring fundraiser was a huge success raising over $2,000.00 to support our day to day MACC programs. The final score came down to the last seconds as Pasta e Fagioli kicked a field goal, winning the 2022 Chef Ferdinand Cruz’s Souperbowl Championship. Turkey Taco soup promises to be back with a vengeance in 2023.

Since 1976, Black History Month has been observed every February. It is a month to acknowledge the important events and leaders that have made a difference in the lives of many. As February is ending, I personally, would like to salute those of color for your continued support to make a difference in the lives of people every day.  #BlackHistoryMonth

We are beyond grateful for the love and support provided by our Community. We can depend on you to show up when there is an immediate need. From fulfilling a plea, making donations, both monetary and materialistic, to working side by side with staff to build partnerships to break cycles of poverty in our community. Thanks for ALL YOU DO!

MACC’s Community Kitchen

Just recently, we had a midday ice storm come our way. We at MACC thought it would be best to call off the volunteers as a safety precaution. My fellow co-workers jumped in and gave me a hand in the kitchen. There’s nothing better to have than such great teammates. “I get by with a little help from my friends.” -The Beatles

Operations Manager

While out at dinner one Friday night, our waitress asked me if I worked at MACC. I replied, “Yes, I do!” She said that her son, who is now attending UCONN, did his community service for his Capstone project at MACC and was inspired by what myself and others taught him while he was here. Definitely a heartwarming moment! #ALWAYSATEACHINGMOMENT

Hard to describe my decision to join MACC better than this quote by Mahatma Gandhi, “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” I remember my Mom always saying that you’ll know you made the right choice just by how you feel after making it. I feel really good Mom. Love you always.
