Joy of Community Sharing 2024

Give Back To The Community This Holiday Season!

We are so excited to begin the holiday season with all of you. Reaching as many families as possible, and doing so with safety, health and efficiency in mind has made us update our program to meet these identified priorities moving forward.

Our goal is to make the holidays a special time for all families and to ease some of the financial barriers that prevent a joyous holiday season and that is why we call upon our community for assistance in keeping true to our mission in, “Building partnerships to break cycles of poverty.”  Last year MACC was able to match 171 families for Adoption, consisting of 289 Adults and 454 children, and adopted more than 100 individuals through the senior center, and gave out 208 household holiday baskets to those pantry clients without children.

The highlights and options for the 2024 program include opportunities for you to help as a volunteer or donor for our Blessing Bags, Senior Centre Gift Bags, and our Family Adoption Program.

You can choose to sign up to adopt a family or families and MACC will match families to you. We will provide you with names, addresses, an in-service contact number, ages, and gender of children. Please keep gift cards to a minimum of $25 for each person in the family and include the adults of the household too. You can bless the adults with grocery cards, coffee cards, or anything you choose to brighten their holiday and include them in the fun. With the increased costs of basic food staples and holiday traditional foods, we also suggest that food gift cards utilize a $17.50 per person monetary figure to determine a total family monetary need for food. This year we continue to request that a donor share a general contact number for our families to reach you if there is a change. We are also requesting that you are asking for a photo ID to ensure you are delivering to the correct household. Gift cards are a great option for contactless delivery!!!

We ask that food gift cards be delivered no later than Friday November 21, 2024, to allow adequate time for families to utilize the gift cards to purchase their Thanksgiving foods. For Christmas and other cultural celebrations, we ask that both food & gift cards be delivered no later than Friday, December 13, 2024, to allow families adequate time to shop for Gifts and food.
