15th Annual Emergency of Hunger Food Drive

Support Your Local Food Pantry!

November 11th, 12th, 18th, & 19th, 2023

Ambulance Service of Manchester and other local fire and police will be collecting food and gift card donations during this food drive to support MACC Charities, HVCC, and South Windsor Food and Fuel Bank, sustaining these food pantries/banks for the winter months. All donations will go to fighting food insecurity in our local community.

The food drive will run for 2 weekends. Week one is November 11th and 12th at Highland Park Market, Highland Street in Manchester, and Stop and Shop and West Middle Turnpike in Manchester from 9 am to 4 pm. Week two is November 18th and 19th at Stop and Shop, West Middle Turnpike in Manchester, Stop and Shop, Ellington Road in South Windsor, Geissler’s Supermarket, Sullivan Ave in South Windsor, and Stop and Shop, 10 Pitkin Rd in Vernon from 9 am to 4 pm.

We will be back to collecting donations in person. We will be collecting non-perishables, turkeys, fresh chickens, cash, and gift cards for the MACC Community Emergency Food Pantry, South Windsor Food and Fuel Bank, and Hockanum Valley Community Council so that they may continue their mission of helping our neighbors in the South Windsor, Manchester, and Vernon communities fight food insecurity.

Over the past decade, this “Emergency of Hunger” Food Drive has grown to be one of the largest in Manchester, South Windsor, and Vernon, and it has become critical to keeping our food banks stocked for the holidays and winter months. We need your support now more than ever.

The Ambulance Service of Manchester, MACC Charities, Manchester Police Department and Explorer Post, South Windsor Police Department, South Windsor Rotary Club, South Windsor Fire Department, and Hockanum Valley Community Council are proud to again partner for this event and are optimistic that the 15th year will be our most successful!
